
Foundation

The Center for Bioscience and Biotechnology (CBB) was established by Prof. Dr. Tran Linh Thuoc under Decision No. 31/TCCB issued by the President of the University of Science, VNU-HCMC dated December 14, 1996.
The center is currently directed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Hoang in accordance with Decision No. 936/QD-KHTN-TCHC dated August 22, 2011.
Function

CBB is a science and technology organization, officially registered since December 2, 2013, with the following functions:
- Conducting scientific research and developing applications in the fields of Biology and Biotechnology.
- Carrying out experimental and commercial production based on research outcomes.
- Providing scientific and technological services, offering consultancy on technology transfer and scientific information, as well as delivering specialized training courses in registered fields.
- Engaging in domestic and international cooperation in accordance with legal regulations, within the scope of registered activities.
Mission & Vision

The primary mission of CBB is to utilize biological tools to research and develop technologies for applications in agriculture, industry, and medicine.
CBB strives to design and produce simple biotechnological devices and materialsto support domestic organizations in reducing production costs and the lessening dependency on foreign technology companiesIn addition, CBB is committed to developing products related to cosmetics, dietary supplements, and pharmaceuticals.
Structure & Cooperation
CBB is affiliated with the Ho Chi Minh University of Science (HCMUS), which is part of the Vietnam National University (VNU) system
CBB cũng có mối quan hệ hợp tác chặt chẽ với Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology (FBB) and the Molecular Biotechnology Laboratory, both of which belong to HCMUS.

CBB was founded by Prof. Dr. Tran Linh Thuoc in December 1996. Currently, Prof. Dr. Tran Linh Thuoc and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schumann serve as honorary advisors to the center.
